Today I got to participate in the promotion ceremony of Puddleby’s newest full Mystic, K’vynn! There was a small celebration in town, with kegs of beer and root beer generously payed for by Ma’ta Rincewind, and we were successfully able to get K’vynn completely drunk, as is Mystic tradition. F’nom grudos, Ma’ta K’vynn!

I stepped out of the library today, and found myself on the receiving end of a headbutt. I looked around, expecting to see an excited Zo, but instead found town overrun by a bunch of drunken reindeer.
Reindeer trophies had been exactly what I was looking for, so I took out my chain and quickly began chaining the reindeer as soon as the fighters felled them. Soon, I had a sizable collection of reindeer carcasses, and with the help of Kazik and Philip Peltkeeper, I was able to get them stuffed.
I soon learned, however, that the reindeer belonged to a Drunken Elf, who’s animals had escaped after they had gotten a hold of the “special feed.” A number of exiles helped gather the remaining reindeer, and returned them to the grateful sylvan.

Meanwhile, Kazik and I returned to the clan house to display our newly won trophies. With the addition of the reindeer, the Bawkmas display is finally complete!

Merry Bawkmas everyone! Don’t let Santa’noth catch you doing anything naughty!

Ezail and I managed to dig Ayella out from under a pile of books in the library today, and once we dusted her off and cleared out all the cobwebs, we took her to see the Tree along with Ailidh and Siobhan.

Afterwards, Ayella and Ezail decided to move out of Puddleby Hollows, and purchased a new treehouse in Arbordale. However, the sneaky Ayella ran off before we began moving the furniture. Luckily, Treebeard and Marko soon showed up to help with the move.

Once we’d carried all of the furniture to the treehouse, Ezail ordered Marko to decorate the new home as he saw fit. Despite some initial grumbling, Marko did a great job in placing all the furniture (perhaps he should be put in charge of decorating the clan house next?).

Congratulations to Ezail on her new home, and welcome back Ayella!

As I sat in town composing this moon’s minutes, I got caught in the middle of one of the largest orga invasions I’ve seen in a while.
It began with the sighting of orga around the edges of town. Soon, a number of orga began making forrays into TC itself. The first few were easily dispatched, but the number of orga kept growing until there were more than 50 orga in town, accompanied by about 30 shamen and a pack of DV. The invasion was in full force.

There were no BROs or any of the tougher orga in the invasion, but the orga gained ground through their sheer numbers. Gradually, we were able to push them out to the East Field, where the rest of their force lay waiting. We had to cut our way through LDV and lightning throwing warlocks before we were finally able to destroy the invasion force.
This was first orga invasion in many moons, and a good reminder that the orga are not going to just sit and wait as we press deeper into their territory.

Ailidh and I learned the ancient art of Coin Whoring today, when we attended a free coin hunting class provided by the University of Puddleby. The class was taught by Maeght, and began with a short lecture in the classroom where he explained to us some of the basics of coin hunting.

After the lecture, we got to put our knowledge to test in the real world, going on a whirlwind coin hunting field trip around the isle. We started off with NWF, which was unusually empty, save for herpatids which kept menacing our party. Then we moved onto the Myrm Highlands and KB, which was good hunting.
The party headed next to the vermine tree, but unfortunately I passed out along the way, and didn’t wake up until much later. Perhaps Ailidh can fill in on how the rest of the hunting went. The class was very fun, and even enlightening(though not for my purse, which gained 53 coins), and I am considering looking into increasing my Skea training in the near future.

A routine break from the library turned into a bit of an adventure the other night when Naferu invited me on an expedition to the Land of Sarra. My previous expeditions to Sarra haven’t always been successful, so I was a bit reluctant, but in the end I decided to join.

Our party of 12 strong gathered on Centaur Isle, then headed for the Land of Sarra. We entered via the mystic illusion, and made slow progress through the foresty plateau. We encountered dozens of Sarra’dons and Sarra’yrms that can sap an exiles balance, along with Venomous Cobras, who spit poison from afar.
Half of the fighters in our party were bloodbladers, so party was always on edge, what with our bleeding fighters falling to stray bits of venom every other minute. Luckily, we had Lorikeet on hand, along with several other powerful healers, so none of our party was fallen for long.

After a few hours of hunting, we decided to head back, and successfully made it past a gauntlet of Angry Mother Sasquatches, to safety. Our party didn’t get very far in Sarra, but we encountered dozens of tough critters in the few snells we visited, and it was a fun hunt overall.

The Feast of Tsrinn is bad news. Every four years when the planets align, a great curse strikes Puddleby, turning its inhabitants into undine. The barrier between the planes is also weakened, and all manner of strange and dangerous creatures appear in town.
Sure, there are free costumes and candy available, but you hardly get to enjoy them when you’re shambling along, thinking about brains. As a general rule, I usually hide myself in the library whenever the Feast comes along, re-emerging only when the curse is past. This year, however, I actually decided to participate in the Feast, and ended up having lots of fun.

The day began with some trick-or-treating with Vagile. We spent about half an hour together searching around Puddleby for houses that were giving out candy this year, so that we could get this year’s special costume, a chubby old drake. However, try as we might, we could not get Persute to recognize our worthiness.

Afterwards, we returned to town to find Puddleby being invaded by Abyssal Hunters. Wave after wave of the powerful undine kept pouring forth, and each time our fighters cut one down, more appeared in its place. Town was quickly overwhelmed.

I stepped out of the library today, and was surprised to find that the Rebels still occupied Puddleby. Luckily, the invasion would not last much longer.

Several hours into the fighting, the pirate Stinkfist came up with an idea to slay the Rebel General Issimo. It turned out that Stinkfist had been in contact with the General all along, having been the one who sold the rebels their boats in the first place!

I was expecting to attend a barding class taught by Coriakin today, but I ended up being caught up in an invasion instead. The moment I stepped out of the library I was surrounded by a group of rebel soldiers, and was felled before I knew what was happening.

It seems that General Issimo of Tenebrions’s Island launched an attack on Puddleby in retaliation for Phineas claiming TI for his own. Now there are countless rebel troops in Puddleby, and the town is completely overrun. The surviving exiles have been holed up in the Temple and the Healer’s Hall, trying to repulse the enemy.
So far there have been more than five waves of enemies, and their engineers have constructed walls around the town of Puddleby. Worse, the enemy soldiers are beginning to look for a way into the Puddleby underground. Where are all these soldiers coming from?? Someone help me!

I finally got the chance today to speak with Harper, the Dean of the University of Puddleby, and registered as a full-time student. The tuition is 150 coins, a bit steep for a mystic’s budget, but with over 50 courses offered, I think it’s well worth it.
After I payed my dues, Harper presented me with a pair of keys to the University, and she was kind enough to give me a guided tour. This is a sketch of me posing by “Fluffy”, the University mascot:
