Rebel Invasion Ends

I stepped out of the library today, and was surprised to find that the Rebels still occupied Puddleby. Luckily, the invasion would not last much longer.

Several hours into the fighting, the pirate Stinkfist came up with an idea to slay the Rebel General Issimo. It turned out that Stinkfist had been in contact with the General all along, having been the one who sold the rebels their boats in the first place!

Once we got over our astonishment and anger, Stinkfist told us of his plan to lure the General into the main Temple, while the rest of us would hide beneath, and spring out on his word. While some of us didn’t feel like we could trust Stinkfist, and others felt his plan dishonorable, a number of us decided to go ahead with the plan anyway, on the grounds that it was high time the Rebel occupation came to and end.
True to his word, Stinkfist lured the General to the Temple, and offered him one of Tara’s infamous wuv muffins. While Issimo was stunned, those us who were hiding beneath the temple burst out, and brought down the Rebel General. The plan was a success!

Still, even with the General dead, the Rebels did not depart Puddleby, and many of their troops vowed to avenge their fallen General. There was one last charge by the Rebels, but once we’d defeated that it was only a matter of time before we rooted out the last of the Rebels hiding in town.
All in all, the invasion lasted for nearly three puddle days, making it the longest invasion ever in our history, even longer than when Kiril Drakesblood invaded town. I’m still not entirely sure of the cause of the invasion, or who was responsible, but Phineas and Stinkfist have a lot to answer for after this mess.

What is even more unbelivable is that I was there. I had not been out of the library for over 8 zodiacs and I chose this one to come stumbling out. At least I was received by several sunstones to not step out of the library so I went underground to help out in the Temple. Little did I know my quick library break would keep up past 5 am pst.
