Hunting w/Open Hands

Posted on July 31, 2004 in Uncategorized

Today was the much anticipated joint hunt with clan Open Hands. Our two clans began gathering in the Puddleby Monastery early in the morning, before the sun had even risen. The time proved to be a bit too early for many ELFs, but we still had a decent turnout, with a strong showing from Open Hands.

Once all of our clanmates showed up, and we had our preparations in order, we headed off for today’s destination: Dal’Noth Isle.

The hunt was led by our Clan Lord Fleming, who had the most experience navigating the isle. We started on the north end of the island, and headed west into the Dal’Noth Village. The hunting was quite good in the village, with a Landew and several assorted colors of ‘Noths.

Since this was the first time visiting ‘Noth for some of our party, we also payed a visit to the castle of Votenkath. Though we couldn’t find a way into the castle, we did get a peek inside through some of the windows, and were rewarded with a bit of exploration exp for our efforts.

After our brief tour of the Dal’Noth Village, we headed east for the Dal’Noth Underground. The place was teeming with Rippers and Scarab beetles, but the greatest danger of all were the much feared Hel’Noths, who’s lightning is strong enough to fell all but the strongest of fighters in a single blow.
We encountered no less than 3 Hel’Noths during out passage through the Underground, but amazingly we survived, thanks in large part to our wonderful healers.

Once we made it out of the Underground, we traveled south through the passes until we hit the western shore. At this point, a number of our party had to leave, but a few of us stayed around to hunt some Landews in the Dew Cave, with the help of some reinforcements.
All in all it was a great hunt, and surprisingly enough, it didn’t end in a mil’asanti(perhaps due to the high OH to ELF ratio). The hunt was a lot of fun, and I hope we’ll be able to hunt with Open Hands again sometime soon!
