Rat Tower Chaos
Posted on February 19, 2004 in UncategorizedThere was quite a bit of chaos following the Chaos Storm yesterday. While looking to see what changes the Chaos Storm had brought, I learned that the western rat towers had gotten a facelift. However, when I entered the tunnel connecting the two towers to see if anything had changed there, I discovered something totally unexpected– the Storm had managed to warp the very fabric of existence!
The tunnel had been transformed into a one way trap– no one that entered could leave. The laws of physics also seemed to have gone haywire, for people found themselves able to occupy the same space in the same instant. Exiles also found it possible to walk off into the neverending grey void. Trapped in the rat tower with no way out, we decided there was only one thing we could do– we decided to have a little fun.
We had fun experimenting with different things in the rat tunnel. Kudzu, for example, would grow in the tunnel, but grew on top of each other, instead of spreading apart. Bard music and cads worked in the tunnel, but boosting did not have any effect other than creating a neverending sparkle. Monsters could attack us, but we could not attack them at all. We also had fun creating a dogpile of about 20 exiles occupying a single space.
After a while, however, the fun began to wear off, and we began searching for a way out. Healers with purgatory pendants were able to teleport out, but the rest of us were out of luck. Finally, I asked Ezail to sue me, and I was taken to court for “goofing off in the never-ending tunnel.” Luckily, I was found innocent.
A number of others were also able to make it out as jurors, and the rest were teleported out by some merciful Ancient. The Ancients also placed some rocks to block the entrance to the rat tunnel, but they didn’t place them well enough, leading to more people becomming trapped in the tunnel, and more frivolous lawsuits that lasted well into the night.
