Day 44, Year 549

Today I went hunting in the hidden valley of the Eastern Mountains with my clanmates, which was quite fun.

Hunting in the hidden valley

Just reaching the valley proved to be a difficult task, however. The
valley entrance is located smack dab in the middle of the Greymyr
Village, and several times we had to return to town with fallen party
members. We also had difficulty just entering the valley, the entrance
to which is a very difficult pf path.

Luckily we were all able to enter the valley with the aid of
the talented pathfinder Rael the Squonk, and we were soon on our way to
some hunting and adventure!

Exploring the valley

Our clanmate Kor’gah led us through the valley, and we stuck near
the river for the most part. We encountered a large numbers of wendies
inside the valley, who had some really nice furs.

The wendies of the valley proved to be a difficulty, however.
When fighting against a particularly nasty batch of wendies, our
comrade Rael was felled by rocks thrown by the wendies, and was
pronounced too fallen to be healed by the healers we had with us.

This actually proved to our advantage, however, when we
encountered a large fishing pond in the center of the valley. We were
able to use bits of Rael as fishing bait, which was quite successful.

After a tour of the valley, we exited via the back entrance, and
returned to town. It had been several years since I last visited the
valley, so this hunt was quite a treat.

Tan’ki to Rael for helping us enter the valley and for being
such good bait. I’ll be sure to take him with me the next time I go
fishing!
