Day 69, Year 548

Phiros the Mystic
A new Mystic in town

Today, Phiros was advanced to the station of full and honourable
Mystic. Afterwards, there was the traditional celebration in town, with
several kegs of beer. F’nom grudos Ma’ta Phiros!

Day 61, Year 548

Xepel Rejoins ELF
Xepel rejoins ELF

Today, at our clan’s monthly meeting, we gained two new members. The
first was Ailidh, who has been a hopeful to our clan for a while now.
The second was Xepel, who was once before an ELF, but left to found his
own clan. Welcome to the ferindril Ailidh, and welcome back Xepel!

After the meeting, our clan decided to hunt in Melabrion’s
Mines. However, in the Mines we met up with the Order of the White
Elephant, who were trying to rescue their clanmate Charlos, who had
fallen in the deadly snake pit. We decided aid OWE in their rescue, and
the cobras and Tok’han of the snake pit were no match for a combined
might.

After the rescue, we returned to Puddleby to find our town being
invaded by Darshak pirates. I had some pressing matters to attend to,
so I could not be a part of the battle, but my clanmates tell me that
they were successful in defeating the Darshak. Aravir has written more
about the event on his scrolls.

Finally, I have nearly gathered all of the information that I need to
write a full account of the recent events concerning Tenebrion and the
Ethereal Plane. I should have the scroll finished soon.

Day 58, Year 548

Flame Burst
Kaboom!

There sure are a lot of things happening tonight! Not long after Tara finished poisoning town with her muffins, slime monsters appeared in the East Field and began attacking Puddleby.

Slimes in E Field
Slimes at large

As the exiles of our town fought against these slimy foes, six Ethereal
Portals opened up in town center, with a great burst of ether. And
shortly after that, a fiery pit opened up in north Puddleby, spewing
forth various fiery creatures.

Bubble Trouble
Bubble bubble, toil and trouble!

There were very few exiles in the lands at the time, so we were hard
pressed to defend our town against the fire vermine, fire beetles, fire
bubbles and slimes. Prue pushing unsuspecting exiles into the Ethereal
Portals didn’t help, either.

Eventually, however, we were able to defeat the slimes and the
creatures of fire. Still, we were left with many unanswered questions.
Were the slimes and fire creatures working together, or did they just
happen to invade town at the same time? What caused the Ethereal
Portals to open up in town center? Could this be somehow related to the
“uncontrollable ethereal force” that Tenebrion spoke of?

Perhaps we will find the answers to some of these questions, as Tenebrion recovers from his amnesia.

Day 58, Year 548

Tara and her muffins
Tara drops a batch of deadly muffins

Tara’s muffins are one of the most infamous food products in Puddleby,
ranking right up there with bitter berries and Haricot’s “gourmet”
lunches. Tara often claims that the only thing that goes into her
muffins is “lovin”, but any exile who has had the misfortune of tasting
one of her muffins will disagree. Those who eat Tara’s muffins often
suffer from harmful side-effects ranging from stomach aches to death.

Today Tara was up to her usual mischief, passing off her
brownies to unsuspecting exiles. At first, her success was somewhat
limited, but soon the inhabitants of Puddleby were overcome by a strong
“muffin hunger”, that compelled them to eat Tara’s muffins, whether
they wanted to or not. Only the strongest willed exiles were able to
resist the urge to eat one of Tara’s muffins, and then, only just
barely.

Over the course of an hour, Tara dropped more than half a dozen
plates of muffins, and poisoned nearly every exile in town. The people
that ate the muffins were overcome by a sense of sickness, and more
than a dozen people fell due to poisoned muffins.

Perhaps it is not the Darshak or the Orga threats that we
should worry about, but Tara? Surely, she is one of the greatest
threats that we exiles face today.

Day 58, Year 548

Tenebrion in the Temple
Exiles greet Tenebrion as he exits Purgatory

An update to my previous journal entry: The exiles of Puddleby have
managed to revive Tenebrion by taking him to the plane of Purgatory via
the Ethereal Plane.

Now, however, Tenebrion is apparently suffering from a severe
case of amnesia. He no longer seems to remember who he is, what he is,
and where he is. However, while Tenebrion was in a comatose state, he
babbled about things that may provide some insight into his past.

For now, Tenebrion is resting in Fat Alice’s old hut in the
southern farms, while trying to recover from his recent ordeal. I will
try to provide a full account of the entire tale once I have gathered
all of my notes together.

Day 56, Year 548

Fallen 'Brion
The fallen necromancer

Today Tenebrion was found fallen, in a state periously close to death,
in the Sapphire sector of the Ethereal Plane. More information to come
soon…

Day 56, Year 548

Today the winners of the Puddleby Pie Project Commemorative Art Contest
were announced by Prue, and nearly 30 exiles gathered in the museum to
see Muzea unveil the winning pieces.

The piece that took first place in the contest was the painting
“That’s AmorĂ©” by Sutai. However, since Sutai was unable to attend the
unveiling, the prize(a 21 pie salute delivered by the Legion of Thoom
Temporary Honor Guard) was instead given to Prue.

The other winners: Sor took 2nd place with his beautiful sculpture
entitled “The Fox, the Knight, and the Witch”. 3rd place went to Manx
and her painting “Meadow Nupitals”(which was unfortunately vandalized).
Finally, Malkor received an Honorable Mention for his collage “gIvE uS
thE moNEy OR ELse”.

All of these pieces are currently on display in the Puddleby
museum. However, some of the works are only being displayed for a
limited time only, so you should try to enjoy this special exibit while
you can. Muzea does have one small request for visitors though:

Day 50, Year 548

No Healers
Prue sums up our problems

Today the fullmoon shone brightly in the early morning sky, and I tried
to put together a party for an FMOCR. However, it quickly became
apparent to us that we did not have enough fighter or healer power to
take the Orga Camps. The next fullmoon will fall on a better time for
most of us, so hopefully we will have better luck next time.

Day 50, Year 548

As most exiles know, the Coliseum on Thieve’s Island is a place where
exiles can go every Sombdi night to pit themselves against powerful
beasts, and wager on the outcomes of the battles. Last night, a bunch
of us were gathered in the Coliseum doing just that, when a strange man
with a funny accent arrived at the Coliseum.

The man told us that his name was Zapicus, and that his boss was
looking to open a new laboratory soon, where exiles could add their own
monsters to the Coliseum rosters. Sure enough, the next day, a lab
opened up on the west side of the Coliseum.

Inside the lab, Zapicus was collecting creatures from exiles to add
to the Coliseum rosters. If you bring a dead critter to Zapicus that he
doesn’t have yet, he will give you 5 coins for your troubles and add
the critter to the list.

However, Zapicus is a little picky about creatures that he can add
to the Coliseum. Zapicus won’t take any undine, sea creatures, or
creatures with any ranged weapons like fire or lightning. Additionally,
he can’t take some magical critters like ‘Noths, Spriggins, and
Lyfelidae.

As exiles found out about the new laboratory, they rushed to collect
new critters for the Coliseum. By the end of the day, the Coliseum
rosters were bursting with new creatures. We now have Blood Wurms,
Scaramis, LSWs, Queen Myrms, Cave Cobras, Blind Amphibias and more. The
Coliseum is sure to be packed with exiles next Sombdi night(which falls
on ooc: 2:30pm pst this Saturday)!

Day 32, Year 548

Today was my clan’s monthly meeting, but it was dampened a bit by some
severe fog. Everyone had a little trouble moving around in the heavy
fog, and one of my clanmates was so fogged that he couldn’t even make
it out of the library.

Still, we had a good turnout at our meeting, and we were soon
up to our usual sylvan silliness. We discussed a bunch of things at the
meeting, but perhaps the most exciting thing was that the hopeful
Tardalus was inducted into our clan as a full member! F’nom grudos
Tardalus! The sylvan Ruen also joined our clan today as a hopeful.

Tardalus Becomes a Member

After the meeting, we decided to go hunting in the Dark Chamber, but a
lot of our clanmates couldn’t come because of the fog. We decided to
try the Dark Chamber anyway, with the help of Stinkfist and Grymhildr.
We did pretty well for a while with our small party, but a large
backspawn left us trapped and fallen in the far end of the Dark
Chamber.

Trapped in the Dark Chamber
A very bad situation…

Luckily, Xepel and Vequalir managed to get into a good defensive
position, and were able to call for reinforcements. Clubby, Delirium,
Konoko, Galdim, and Thirteenth Rat came to our aid, and with their help
we were able to hunt the rest of the Dark Chamber.

Afterwards, we traveled from the Dark Chamber to the Dark
Temple via the magical pentagram, and headed for the Astral Plane.
There, we encountered a pair of Astral Guardians which provided us with
some fun.

Fighting Two Giant Gumballs
Fighting the two giant gumballs!

After vanquishing the two Astral Guardians, we returned to the Dark
Temple, only to be ambushed by a pair of Darshak Liches! We were
quickly able to recouperate, and separate the Liches so that we could
fight them on at a time. With the rodding power of Vequalir and
Delirium, and the deadly accuracy of the Atkus King Fleming, we were
able to bring the Liches down and bring our hunt to a close.
