Day 209, Year 547

Today I purchased a signpost from the merchant Wormtounge. I’ve no idea
what I will use it for yet, but I am a sucker for rare and exotic
merchandice. It was quite expensive, and I had to play a few risky
hands of Black Jack to win enough money to pay for it. And speaking of
gambling…

Day 206, Year 547

I helped rescue Yor and a group of other adventurers today, who were
hunting in the vast underground passages beneath Dal’Noth Isle. Yor
told me that lately Xar’Noths, Tuz’Noths, and Hel’Noths(the
three most powerful ‘Noths) have become much more common in the
southern portions of the Dal’Noth underground. Could it be that the
Dark Bubbling is recovering from its loss of Qual, and is building up its forces?

Day 193, Year 547

Today I heard from my friend Ailidh that Magnels, a clanmate and
long-time friend of mine, has left the clan E’las Loth’mon Ferindril.
Words cannot begin to express what I feel right now.

Magnels has been one of the longest standing members of our
sylvan clan, and I have known him since well before the Ripture War. He
was a clanmate, a friend, a brother, and someone whom I have always
looked up to. And now he has left us, as my former clanmates Astor and
Drue’Dreemi have left us, in the past few moons.

I feel angry, sad, confused, and betrayed. Our once vibrant and
active clan is now blighted and wasting away. Magnels thinks that the
only way to bring new life to our clan is by clearing out the “old
growth,” but I disagree. Does one go about revitalizing a forest by
uprooting its oldest pines? The eldest trees may not have much life
left in them, but they still provide strong foundations for the newer
vines to climb upon.

I sincerely hope that Magnels will reconsider his decision, as
well as the others who have left our clan in the recent past, that we
may work together to bring glory once more to the Clan of the Dark
Green Wood.

Day 188, Year 547 of the Ascendancy

Mystic Tournament

Neige held his much anticipated Grand and Suicidal Mystic Race today, and nearly a dozen mystics participated in the race.

The race consisted of 5 checkpoints the mystics
had to reach– the Puddleby Underground, the Myrm Higlands, the Flower
Tower on Devil’s Isle, Baelingil’s Farm in the Northern Plains, and TW
7, along with a mystery location, which wasn’t revealed until the day
of the race.

The mystery location turned out to be the deadly
Tenebrion’s Isle, and exiles had to cross from one side of the island
all the way to the other. Unfortunately, the race lived up to its name,
and proved to be too suicidal for any mystic to succeed.

Afterwards, all of the mystics headed to the Arena
for some crazy mystic fighting action. First we held several
free-for-all competitions, two with boosting allowed, and one with no
boosting. The mystics Ruby and Neige ended up winning those
competitions, respectively.

Next we held two Toe-to-Toe(TTT) competitions,
where instead of running all around the arena, two mystics would face
off against each other in a duel of mystic might.

Ruby won the first tournament, and more mystics
arrived for the second competition, including the monk Sutai, who won
the second tournament handily. Afterwards, however, the dwarf Marmoset
arrived, and kicked Sutai’s butt from the Arena to next Sombdi.

In other news, the Full Moon OC Raid that was held
on the 6th of Summer was a stunning success. The support that we
received was incredible, and we were able to obtain the teleportation
stone in little more than 2 puddle hours.

We now have the first of the six stones which we
hope to trade with the ‘Brions. Tan’ki to all those who helped out with
the raid!

It’s only been a few months since I last changed the location of my
webscrolls, but I am considering moving them yet again. I’ve recently
become impressed with the shelf space provided by Free Conversant(which also hosts Aravir’s Notebook), because of the wealth of features it provides.

Moving my webscrolls here to the Free Conversant space will make it easier for me to add new entries to my Sketch of the Day,
while allowing visitors to add their own comments to my journal
entries. For now I’m only experimenting with the Sketch of the Day, but
I may eventually move all of my webscrolls to this new location.

Day 182, Year 547 of the Ascendancy

Ethereal Portal

It has been nearly twelve years now since exiles first met the powerful
wizard known as Tenebrion. Since then, he and his brothers have been
offering to trade exiles a permanent portal to the Ethereal Plane in
exchange for 6 of the teleportation stones obtained from the Orga.

For a long time now, nothing has come of this
offer. There have been countless meetings between the ‘Brions and
various exile groups, but nothing concrete has ever come of them.

Recently, however, I received the following letter
from the Mystic Council of Puddleby, and was told to share it with the
public at large. In a nutshell, it is a statement from the Council
supporting the trade with the ‘Brions, along with a list of reasons.

Personally, I find the reasons compelling enough
to support the effort to collect 6 teleportation stones for trade. The
next full moon will fall upon OOC: 11am EST, on Saturday the 14th, and
I hope to be there to support the group getting the stone.

Read the letter for yourself, and join us on Saturday if you wish to aid us in collecting stones for trade with the ‘Brions.

Day 177, Year 547 of the Ascendancy

Myrm Empress

Today I stepped out of the library to find myself in the midst of a
Myrm Invasion. Giant myrms terrorized all parts of our fair town, from
the northern farms to the southern gate.

This, I later learned, was only the conclusion to
a lengthy myrm invasion which began hours before I first stepped out of
the library. According to Farhope, who witnessed the invasion from the
start, the attack began when a small tunnel opened up to the south-east
of town center.

From out of the tunnel poured forth progressively
powerful myrms, first Warriors, then Nobles, then Royals and Fire
Myrms, while the Myrmtarr
taunted exiles over the sunstone. After a firece battle in town, the
exiles stormed the Hive, and fought another massive battle in the Queen
Chamber.

The exiles then fought their way out of the Hive,
only to find that town had been invaded once again, under the command
of the Myrm Empress.

The myrm forces in town were comprised of the
firey Fire Myrms and the vicious Irritated Myrms. The myrms were led by
a powerful Myrm Empress, which felled most exiles with a single blow
from its powerful mandibles.

It took nearly two hours to bring down the Myrm
Empress, and it took several more hours to rid the town of all of the
myrm forces. The last I heard, there were still Fire Myrms and
Irritated Myrms fiercely guarding the Hive.

All in all, it was quite a fierce and exciting
invasion, and it makes me wonder what could have instigated the myrm’s
attack against Puddleby. Possibly the invasion was in response to
Undrus’ construction of the tunnels under Puddleby, which are almost
nearing construction.

Whatever their reasons, the myrm have clearly proven today that they are still a dangerous foe to Puddleby.

Day 159, Year 547 of the Ascendancy

“Bravery and Compassion”

Today I got to participate in a rescue in the Dal’Noth Underground. Our
rescuees were members of the Darkhorse clan who had been exploring the
underground passages, and were ambushed by 3 Hel’Noths, powerful beings
which can fell even the strongest of exiles with their powerful
lightning bolt.

Our party traveled through the underground
tunnels, finding fallen exiles on almost every snell. Thanks to the
powerful healer Lorikeet, none of the fallens were past the point of
healing. We did encounter quite a few Hel’Noths during our rescue, but
we were able to to defeat them without much difficulty, and rescue the
fallens. All told, we encountered no less than 5 Hel’Noths, several
Rippers, and even the rare Tuz’Noth.

In other news, there were two Bard Auditions that
were held today, one for full Bardship and the other for Quester
status. Unfortunately no questers showed up for the full Bard Audition,
so we only actually held the Quester one.

Three Quester hopefuls showed up to the Audition,
and each performed their 4 songs for the audience and the Bard Pannel.
All of the hopefuls put on a pretty good performance, and at the end of
the day the hopefuls Dave and Laiy were given the title of Bard
Quester. F’nom grudos! Hopefully there will be even more auditionees at
the next Bard Audition.
