Day 119, Year 541 of the Ascendancy

Today, after almost nine and a half years of questing, I was finally
promoted to the status of full Mystic. I must say that I am quite
excited, and a bit overwhelmed. I’ve finally attained 1rst circle,
after all these years! Hopefully, I will be able to improve the Mystic
Guild and the Puddleby community with my new found abilities. F’nom
tan’ki to Aki, Sutai, Malkor, Leonin, and Valtrim who have helped me to
get a hang of my new job, and to all the countless exiles who have
helped to mold me into who I am today!

Day 9, Year 542 of the Ascendancy

Well, it seems that Stroctros and company were finally able to finish
gathering materials to complete Puddleby’s first Mystic Pub! Finally,
mystics have a place to meet and discuss secret matters, outside of the
Academy… or so I thought. Elated that the Pub was finally complete, I
walked through the door… and ran right into a Detached Spirit. I
quickly fled the Pub, then dispatched the Spirit using some fancy
maneuvering. Looks like Stroctors built our Pub on top of a graveyard.
To further my annoyment, the upper portions of the Pub are not
complete. Hopefully Stroctros will finish the rest of the Pub soon.

Day 1, Year 542 of the Ascendancy

The recent Chaos Storm has deffinately brought some odd characters to
the lands, and perhaps none are as odd or despicable as the pair that
suddenly appeared in the East Forest. I was first alerted to their
presence by the ‘Zo Mac-arena, who informed me that there was some
brutish exile cutting down trees in the East Forest. Now, I consider
the southern parts of the East Forest to be my home, and this was too
close to home for comfort. So, I followed Mac-arena’s guidance, as he
led me to the tree butcher.

As it turned out, the cutter of trees went by the
name “Potch Axer”. He was working for his “master”, who for some
unknown reason, needed a lot of wood. Spotting the wood about my
person, he had the nerve to ask me if he could have my log of wood,
while he happily inserted his axe into a sapling. At first, I felt
compelled to tell him where he could stick my wood, but after some
thought, I had a better idea. I made a deal with Potch, that if I gave
him my would, he would take me to his master. He agreed.

As it turned out, his “master”, of all people, was
a sylvan woodsman. Of course, yi could tell he was no true sylvan at
heart, for he lived within a wooden house, instead of the boughs of the
magnificent trees about him. This sylvan, one “Coleman”, was cutting
down the trees of the forest to create some blasted substance from the
logs, called “charcoal”. What in Purgatory is charcoal, yi ask? I know
not. I only know that the substance is used for heating, similar
perhaps to our tinder boxes. Except Coleman uses live trees. I gave a
few harsh words with this Coleman, and his henchman Potch, and quickly
left the dreaded clearing, which smelled of death. This Coleman had
better not move his operations any further south, or there will be the
Abyss to pay.

Day 314, Year 541 of the Ascendancy

I’ve been spending a lot of my time studying lately, so I haven’t been
able to get out and do much of anything. Today, however, I finally got
a brief respite from my studies, and found that I’d narrowly missed a
massive Darshak invasion. Seems this invasion involved multitudes of
Darshak, and several Darshak waships. The Darshak were eventually
fought off, and the warships were eventually sunk, just off the coast
of Umbrion’s Isle. The exiles, thinking it suspicious that the warships
appeared so close to Umbrion’s Isle, decided to investigate. Their
investigations found a huge horde of Darshak, massed outside of
Umbrion’s Castle. The exiles swiftly dispatched the Darshak, in order
to prevent any further invasions. It really isn’t surprising that
Umbrion would consult with the Darshak, since his brother Tenebrion
does so constantly. Also, the ship being constructed in Umbrion’s
shipyard shows some suspicious resemblance to a Darshak Warship.

Anyway, today I got to help out in several
rescues, including the rescue of Righ Badenoch, who was fallen in the
tunnels under Puddleby. The tunnels seem to be constantly expanding,
and there were several new passages that I’d not seen before. These
underground passages could one day extend to places all over the isle,
so I suggest yi donate materials to their building efforts. One bad
thing I encountered during the rescue of Righ, was that the northern
tunnels were infested by Neo’dews, and even a few Mil’dews. It is
appauling to find that the minions of Qual have such a long reach, as
to reside beneath our own beloved town. Hopefully, the ‘dews will not
be able to breed and multiply in the caverns, or we could have a real
fungus problem on our hands…
