Day 261, Year 541 of the Ascendancy<\/font><\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

\n<\/p>\n

\nToday was my clan’s Dun’ilsar against the Lords of Wamphyrii, and of
\ncourse I had the misfortune of arriving late. Agh. I was forced to wait
\nin the Purple Tor, while the rest of clan mates busily hunted critters
\nfor their furs, trying to outdo LoW in the 2 hours and 15 minutes
\nalloted for the money hunt. Finally, the judge Sarmanikan announced
\nthat the challenge was over, and the contestants from both clans
\narrived in the Purple Tor. The money from the clans was totaled up by
\nSarmanikan, and after a dramatic pause, he announced the winners of the
\ncontest: The Lords of Wamphyrii. Double agh.<\/font><\/p>\n

\nAfter the contest, LoW provided everyone with some
\npretzels, and we all congradulated each other on the fine contest. Most
\nof the members from both clans had to head off, but a few of us
\nremained, and decided to hunt in the bear caves.<\/font><\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\nThe hunt in the bear caves went along pretty well,
\nand the furs from the bears were excellent. However, when several
\nlate-comers tried to join our party, they were killed off by a sudden
\nspawn of bears and snakes. The original party went back to assist the
\nnewer one, but most of us ended up falling as well, and since we had no
\nhealers, none of the fallens could be raised. Luckily for us, several
\nhealers soon arrived, along with several powerful fighters, and we were
\nup on our feet in no time. Since the pickings had grown pretty slim in
\nthe bear caves, we decided to move to the Wurm Cave.<\/font><\/p>\n

\nThe Wurm Cave was pretty packed, with a pair of
\nLarge Tahxis Wurms, and quite a few of their smaller cousins. The wurms
\nproved to be pretty treacherous, and we had to evacuate the cave
\nseveral times before we could get a good foothold. We then proceeded to
\nclear the cave of wurms, and we even took on a Blind Amphibia, which
\ngave us quite a challenge.<\/font><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nAfter we cleared out the Wurm Cave, we paddled
\nalong the River Tunnel and decided to stop by the River Cave. Since the
\nlast time I’d visited the River Cave was years ago, back when it took
\nthe concerted efforts of 40 exiles to take the River Cave, this was
\nquite a treat. We encountered many Giant Crawlers in the cave, and a
\npair of Blood Wyrms also decided to join in on the fun.<\/font><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nAfter we defeated the wyrms, we decided to pay a
\nvisit to Burrows Beach, and whack some Large Sand Wurms(or LSWs). We
\nentered a dark, and rather damp cave, and headed towards Burrows Beach.
\nOn the way, we even met a lone LSW, who had decided to leave the hot
\nsands of the beach, for the cool earth of the damp cave.<\/font><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nUnfortunately for the LSW, it was better off on
\nthe beach. The LSW gave our party some challenge, but we were able to
\nmake short work of it.<\/font><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nAfter we dispatched the LSW, we wandered around
\nthe damp cave for about half an hour, before we finally found our way
\nto Burrows Beach. The warm beach was a welcome change for all of us,
\nand our damp clothes finally got a chance to dry. Burrows Beach was
\nfairly deserted though, and saw only the occaisional rockodile and
\ncrawler. However, just as our party was about to turn back, we
\nencountered a pair of LSWs, which gave us a good work out.<\/font><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nAfter we dispatched the LSWs, my party decided to
\nhead out of Burrows Beach. However, I myself decided to stay behind,
\nand look around for a while. Big mistake. At first, I examined the
\nnorthern portions of Burrows Beach, including a safe cave, without any
\ntrouble. However, a lone LSW interrupted my plans for exploration, and
\nchased me all the way to the entrance of the damp cave, where it felled
\nme. Poor Wormtounge had to come all the way from town and rescue my
\nfallen arse from the accursed beach.<\/font><\/p>\n<\/p>\n


\nAs it turned out, however, the LSW had hurt me
\npast the healing abilities of Wortounge, so we were forced to wait in
\nthe damp cave, soaking up water, until more healers could arrive. After
\nabout an hour, Firebird and Micheal arrived, escorted by the fighter
\nUgh, and I was finally put back on my feet. And so ended my adventure
\nin the River Tunnel, and Burrows Beach. Tan’ki for the rescue folks!
