{"id":553,"date":"2003-02-02T02:21:16","date_gmt":"2003-02-02T09:21:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.puddleby.com\/lundar\/?p=553"},"modified":"2003-02-02T02:21:16","modified_gmt":"2003-02-02T09:21:16","slug":"hunting-in-the-hidden-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/puddleby.com\/lundar\/2003\/02\/hunting-in-the-hidden-valley\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunting in the Hidden Valley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Day 44, Year 549<br \/><span class=\"weblogDayText\"><\/p>\n<p>Today I went hunting in the hidden valley of the Eastern Mountains with my clanmates, which was quite fun.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puddleby.com\/lundar-files\/img\/newpasses.gif\" alt=\"Hunting in Valley\" height=\"181\" vspace=\"5\" width=\"260\"><br \/><font size=\"-1\"><b>Hunting in the hidden valley<\/b><br \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p>\nJust reaching the valley proved to be a difficult task, however. The<br \/>\nvalley entrance is located smack dab in the middle of the Greymyr<br \/>\nVillage, and several times we had to return to town with fallen party<br \/>\nmembers. We also had difficulty just entering the valley, the entrance<br \/>\nto which is a very difficult pf path.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily we were all able to enter the valley with the aid of<br \/>\nthe talented pathfinder Rael the Squonk, and we were soon on our way to<br \/>\nsome hunting and adventure!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puddleby.com\/lundar-files\/img\/narrowpass.gif\" alt=\"Narrow Pass\" height=\"162\" vspace=\"5\" width=\"329\"><br \/><font size=\"-1\"><b>Exploring the valley<\/b><br \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p>Our clanmate Kor&#8217;gah led us through the valley, and we stuck near<br \/>\nthe river for the most part. We encountered a large numbers of wendies<br \/>\ninside the valley, who had some really nice furs.<\/p>\n<p>The wendies of the valley proved to be a difficulty, however.<br \/>\nWhen fighting against a particularly nasty batch of wendies, our<br \/>\ncomrade Rael was felled by rocks thrown by the wendies, and was<br \/>\npronounced too fallen to be healed by the healers we had with us.<\/p>\n<p>This actually proved to our advantage, however, when we<br \/>\nencountered a large fishing pond in the center of the valley. We were<br \/>\nable to use bits of Rael as fishing bait, which was quite successful.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puddleby.com\/lundar-files\/img\/raelbait.gif\" alt=\"Rael Bait\" height=\"148\" vspace=\"5\" width=\"221\"><br \/><font size=\"-1\"><b>Using bits of Rael as bait<\/b><br \/><\/font><\/p>\n<p>After a tour of the valley, we exited via the back entrance, and<br \/>\nreturned to town. It had been several years since I last visited the<br \/>\nvalley, so this hunt was quite a treat.<\/p>\n<p>Tan&#8217;ki to Rael for helping us enter the valley and for being<br \/>\nsuch good bait.
